Description

This is an emission nebula in Vulpecula that doesn't appear to be frequently imaged. The data for this image was accumulated during in total 9 nights between 1/9 and 10/9 2023. This target is weak in OIII, so a total of 15 hours were accumulated with a 6 nm OIII filter. In total the intergration time is just slightly more than 30 hours.

Ha: 23 x 15 min (5.75 hours)
OIII: 60 x 15 min (15 hours)
SII: 39 x 15 min (9.75 hours)

The seeing was particularly good over the entire period.

VERSION HSO:
The color scheme is an HSO mixture in PixInsight:
      R = 0.75*Ha+0.25*SII
      G = 0.75*OIII+0.25*SII
      B = OIII
From this starting point I work mostly with yellow, red and blue color masks for stretching. I like this palette because I think it gives a more natural color.

VERSION SHO:
I felt like reprocessing the image with a more traditional SHO palette.

The stars are "RGB" stars synthesized from the narrowband star images produced by StarXTerminator.
